Lonesoul padded into the camp,, with a fat rabbit and two mice dangling by the tail. A long-furred, gray she-cat at her side. The gray she-cat let out a sudden hiss of pain as she trod on a thorn. In her jaws was a sparrow, and another mouse. Dropping their freshkill on the pile, the two cats calmly retreated into the shade of a large tree. Mistflash carefully plucked the thorn out of her pawpad, a spurt of blood following. Giving her paw several vigorous licks, she rested her head on her paws. Lonesoul started to groom her tabby and calico pelt. Mistflash scanned the camp, green eyes narrowed from the sun.

Gravelthorn tossed his head back, taking in the clear blue sky. It was a nice enough day, but a boring one. There needed to be some action in the clans, maybe a skirmish or two. Nothing other than a good battle could lighten his mood and he needed a little action in his life anyways. Besides, a battle would be a great chance to show off his fighting skills... then they'd see what a great deputy he'd make and consider him... Don't get ahead of yourself, Gravelthorn. You need an apprentice first. Play a little with the kits or something; nothing would impress the leader more than a burly tom like you showing off his big heart...
He snorted, flicking his dark blue gaze around him. Boring. That's exactly what this territory was. He stalked through the area, before catching sight of Lonesoul and Mistflash, two other warriors of ShadowClan. Gravelthorn dipped his head in a fluid motion, stooping a little lower so he didn't look nearly so broad-shouldered and muscular. "Hello Lonesoul and Mistflash," Gravelthorn greeted them, his stature and sapphire blue eyes friendly. "Hunting, I see?" He motioned with his tail at the prey in the two she cat's jaws and added an amiable nod of his head. "Mind if I join the two of you? Gravelthorn preferred hunting with a patrol than alone anyways; it was a chance to make himself look good in his clanmates eyes.

"Hello, Gravelthorn." Lonesoul greeted the tom dropping her prey on the freshkill pile. Mistflash dropped her catch on the pile as well. "Hey, sure you can join us." Mistflash said. Her long-furred tail twitched. Mistflash was already bored, despite having just got back from hunting, and she wouldn't mind going out again. Lonesoul was also bored, and she liked hunting and patrolling. lonesoul gave a nod of agreement
Lonesoul knew that this would be a good opportunity. She had always wanted to be deputy, or even leader of the clan. Of course, she would need an apprentice first in order for that to happen, but she knew that she would get one eventually. She knew right from wrong, was sensible, and was a pretty good hunter. She also liked teaching others new fighting or hunting techniques...

Gravelthorn smiled at the two she cats, letting his tail fall to the ground. "Great, so I guess we'll just pick up where you started." He paused in his movement, before glancing back at them. Your clanmates opinion of you matter highly, Gravelthorn. Remember that. Remember that even the leader cannot overlook choosing a deputy that will make the clan happy... "That is, of course, unless you two lovely she cats want to rest after your hunting? Or perhaps, just to patrol instead?" He inclined his head, glancing at the fresh kill pile. It looked fairly substantial since it was only early in the day, but he was more than willing to begin hunting since he'd mainly spent the early morning strolling. His thoughts had distracted him from the necessary work for the clan and he'd been more worried about the boring day than anything else, which was foolish. Wasting time did not help him in any case.

"It doesn't really matter to me." Lonesoul admitted. "We got all the prey we caught back here, so I guess we could patrol if you want to." Mistflash nodded in agreement, ghost gray tail flicking. The weather was nice out, and she knew that all the prey would probably be out. "Though if you would rather hunt or practice battle skills together, I guess we could do that." Lonesoul continued. It was true. Lonesoul wasn't the best fighter, and she really did need to practice fighting skills. Mistflash should practice as well, but she relied more on speed and wasn't that strong. The two she-cats looked at Gravelthorn expectantly, waiting for his answer.
