Padding through the fronds of chartreuse grass around, Singeclaw's gaze flicked back and forth with the hope of catching sight of prey. Her pale silver pelt felt comfortably warm with the sun bearing down upon it and the wind ruffling her long fur with it's power. Finally, she caught sight of a mouse only a few foxlengths away, searching the ground for signs of food. Singeclaw's ice blue eyes glittered as her jaws opened to take in the smell of the mouse. Delicious... She thought, preparing herself to leap. With her strong legs, she knew she could reach that mouse in a single bound and it wouldn't stand a chance. Already, she imagined sinking her teeth deep into the back of its neck and shaking the life out of it... crack!
A nearby noise similar to the sound of a cracking twig alerted the mouse of her presence. Without giving her a backward glance, the mouse darted and Singeclaw leapt, barely scraping the end of its tail as she flung herself forward. The mouse ran away without much trouble and, now, her pelt had a smudge of dirt across the shoulder. Bristled with fury, the angry she cat looked around for whoever was brilliant enough to make that noise. When she found them, she aimed to give them a nice talking to. And if the talking to wasn't clear enough, she had a set of sharpened claws to help her out.

And out of all of my thoughts.. I find that some cats are better then others..

Brokenrecord probably just wished he could have disappeared as quick as he had found himself in his clanmates appearance. "I'm sorry about that Singleclaw, honestly it was an accident.. I can, however, promise it won't happen again.." The young somali was saying in a swift voice, ready to get all of the words out of his maw as quick as possible. He glanced at the she-cat as he shook out his long silver pelt. "Of course.. Let me help, I could probably help you find some more prey.." He offered, his fox-like tail swiftly flicking from side to side.

There was something fundamentally wrong with this situation. Brokenrecord was apologizing to her. As if she took apologies in the first place. Singeclaw scoffed, flicking her tail to and fro on the ground with indignity. Her ice blue gaze fell upon him critically, wondering if he knew just what he had gotten himself into. He'd just made a fool out of one of the most unfriendly cats in the clan, who even disliked kits and she hadn't even been in that good of a mood today. But, really, that insinuated Singeclaw had good days versus bad days, which was all determined by what a good day or a bad day equated to. Whatever. The last thing she wanted to be doing was standing here like an idiot, debating philosophy in her internal monologue.
With a sigh, she contemplated the situation and decided that it just wasn't worth it. This scrap of a warrior wouldn't stand a chance against her hunting prowess proved by the scars marring her pelt and there was no fun in bullying a cat that probably was used to being bullied. "An accident... eh?" She gave him a shrewd, icy glance from her cold eyes and then laughed, but only slightly mocking. She didn't want to scare off the poor tom before he choked out his apology or anything. "Well, don't let me keep you waiting. Embark on your generous quest then." Singeclaw eyed the smudge of dirt across her shoulder. While she wasn't usually a petty cat, she liked her fur kept nice and clean. This smudge just did not belong, but she really didn't want Brokenrecord, or any cat in general, to recognize this so she smoothly padded farther through the prey-filled plains.

Truly Brokenrecord usually wasn't the nicest of cats either.. Though a t least he didn't go and snap a cats head off for stepping on a twig.. Besides.. It was just a mouse. Surely there was more in the forest.. Right? Well to this she-cat that seemed to be all to wrong. He had made her madder then ever, that he saw well and.. Well.. Honestly didn't care. "I'd love to see what some cat does if they catch her close to falling off of the Rock Fall..." He grumbled under his breath, glaring coldly at the she-cat when she turned his back on him. Rolling his amber eyes in that same sense of annoyance the tom opened his mouth to scent the air around him, catching the faint scent of mouse which he had scared off.

Singeclaw's pale gaze flickered side to side around the expanse in front of her, searching for the means of catching another piece of prey. While hunting wasn't her favorite duty for the clan, it happened to be the one she did the most often. Apparently, she was a danger to the other clans on boundary patrols. With that, Singeclaw let out a choked laugh and turned back towards the somali tom. She didn't do hunting patrols, ever, mainly because she liked the isolation. Okay, so maybe that wasn't the reason... no cat really liked to be alone all their life, which was part of the reason she'd joined this clan in the first place. But there was something reminiscent about walking alone in the forest like she'd done not long ago, fending only for herself and no one else. She still had to get used to some of the aspects of clan life anyways. Starting with being friendly to the other warriors. "I can hear you muttering you know," Singeclaw called to him quite loudly, even though he wasn't that far away from her. More accurately, she could hear him muttering, but not actually what he was saying. She had the bizarre urge to say that she wasn't always rude to other cats and that, when she'd been younger, she had been very different. But, then again, she couldn't say that because she never tried to form a relationship with her brother... another one of her many regrets. Instead, all she managed to get out was a vague statement. At least it wasn't disparaging towards him.
"That's one thing I miss about my old life. The silence. This area's nice, but it's not the same." She glanced out towards the rolling, grassy plains with the slightest trace of sadness in her eyes. The clan knew nothing about her rogue life, of course. Singeclaw'd made sure of it. Her memories were her own, even if most of them weren't good. She still woke up with nightmares from her father training; all of the memories had him strolling into her new home with the intentions 'of joining the clan!' Everytime she woke up covered in sweat with clawmarks across the ground, showing she'd been fighting her inner demons. Singeclaw touched her tail tip to the curved scar on her shoulder, before shaking herself out of the moment. Her jaws opened as she took in the scents around.

Brokenrecord rolled his amber eyes in reply to her words, "Like I honestly care.." He thought lowly, flicking his ears back on his head and cracking his mouth to scent the air. The tom sighed lowly when he once again caught scent of nothing. Shaking his head dismissively the young tom stalked forward, his amber eyes occasionally shifting and flicking around thoughtfully. Flicking his ears back Brokenrecord scented the ear again, still expecting nothing but his and Singclaw's scents but actually catching the smell of thrush being carried on the wind. A slight smile appeared, registering clear on Brokenrecord's features, before he bounded forward, slowing when the scent became stronger. Slowly he got into a stalk, creeping forward with shifting eyes until he found the bird with pride in his amber eyes. Smirking he stalked forward and in one swift motion killed the plump thrush.

Singeclaw noticed he rolled his eyes at her and that caused her to bristle all over again. She could deal with disrespect for her superiors, but this cat here was certainly not better than her. In an instant, she wanted to do nothing more than wipe that smug little smirk off his puny face and teach him a lesson. He, however, seemed to be oblivious of her intentions as he stalked and promptly killed a thrush. And this is where most warriors would congratulate him for his catch... Singeclaw thought, sarcastically. As if she would deign to that. After all, she'd attempted to make conversation with this tom, which was an action she never carried off, and he was now resorting to the silent treatment. Fine. She didn't care what he thought of her or what the rest of the clan thought of her. She knew she was a good warrior, as sharp-tongued as she was, and an argument with this little, insolent tom wasn't going to change that. So fine. He caught himself a thrush, what an accomplishment. She could play this silent treatment game as well.

"Why.. Out of all of the clan why do I run into this she-cat?" Brokenrecord thought lowly, sitting his thrush down and smirking smugly at the she-cat with his head held high. "You're turn." He said swiftly, that smug look still plain on his face as he spoke, his bushy silver tail lashing slowly from side to side as he eyed the she-cat. The toms ears automatically laid back against his head, obviously expecting this she-cat to come up with a snappy comeback sooner then he could blink.

My turn? She could already hear sarcastic comebacks swarming in her thoughts, dying to be released. Still, there was something challenging about the way this tom said it. It almost seemed he thought she couldn't do it. And, anyways, it was somewhat comical to see his expectance at her comment to come. "Is that a challenge? Singeclaw queried, her eyebrow rising. Her eyes danced, almost with amusement. "Because, if it is, you'll surely be disappointed in being the victim." She flicked her tail at him, before moving lithely forward with her ears pricked, claws out, and eyes ready. Singeclaw knew her strengths rested in fighting, but she could hunt well. Being a rogue certainly made it necessary and, with enough practice, she'd gathered experience in it so it felt like second nature. Sniffing the air, she headed in the direction of prey, barely making a sound against the ground. Singeclaw crouched when she caught sight of the rabbit, its nose crinkling as it sniffed the ground. Its head rose, almost as thought it had felt eyes on it, and those big, wide, innocent brown eye fastened upon Singeclaw. The first thing she thought was: Now I'm really going to make a fool of myself, even though I didn't even make a sound... But the rabbit didn't move. It merely stood there with its wrinkled nose. She had several choices; she could leap and get it before it ran or dare to step further. While she thought the rabbits bravery was commendable, Singeclaw didn't think it would last much longer. She leapt forward, claws outstretched towards the rabbit. As soon as she moved, the rabbit started its own movement, intending to hurry away. Singeclaw managed to catch its tail beforehand and bit down on the back of its neck, killing it easily.

Panic! At The Disco - I Write Sins Not Tragedies
Oh, well imagine As I'm pacing the pews in a church corridor And I can't help but to hear No, I can't help but to hear an exchanging of words
"What a beautiful wedding! What a beautiful wedding!?, says a bridesmaid to a waiter "And yes, but what a shame, what a shame The poor groom's bride is a wh*re"
- - - - - - - - - -
Brokenrecord watched her movements, his amber eyes never leaving the she-cats form. He had been sure that the rabbit would bolt when seeing the she-cat.. But then again he was forgetting how stupid and overly idiotic some prey could be. When she caught it couldn't have annoyed poor Brokenrecord any more then it already was and so he settled for drooping his ears in annoyance and mumbled a curse under his breath.
